Same as the bank reference, a professional reference may state that the writer of the reference knows the particular person for a prolonged period of time (at least several years). A professional reference should briefly describe the manner of relationship – usually that would be a professional relationship. A professional reference may be be issued by a barrister, a solicitor, a notary, a judge, an auditor, a chartered accountant, a financial advisor or just about any other reputable individual with whom the subject of the reference has a long-standing professional relation.
